One can actually savor the awful-ness here; but which piece of this fusty-fest film should be savored the most? Is it Kim Kardashian proving that acting in even a Tyler Perry film is out of her league? Is it the clunky dialogue or shoddy character direction written and directed by the very (un)talented Tyler Perry who has somehow become a millionaire many-times-over by peddling mediocrity (if even that at times)? Is it the sleazy-scandalous 80s vibe the entire film gives off? Is it the ridiculous storyline involving one of the four central characters — Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Lance Gross, Robbie Jones, Brandy Norwood — caught in a lusty-but-forbidden (“I’m a Christian!”) love quad-rangle? Is it the where-the-hell-is-that-accent-from performance of Vanessa Williams? The manipulative plot? The (un)funny, loony white lady shelling out RIDICULOUS advice to her co-workers? Temptation is a campy laugh-riot of Real Housewives-like poppycock. The acting and storyline are equivalent to a Bravo after party and should be scorned … although it could just as easily be embraced and celebrated for its abandonment of any sense whatsoever and civility.
The film is both/either cringe-worthy or chuckle-worthy. How one recoils is up to him/her. (but it truly is alarmingly bad)
